Delegation from Southampton Solent University in the U.K. visited our university

On March 17, Vice President Mike Wilkinson and his delegation from Southampton Solent University in the U.K. visited our school, and they were warmly welcomed by Wen Xingsheng, the Party Secretary of HBUE. During the meeting Vice President Qi Laying and the U.K. delegation discussed cooperation opportunities and signed a Memorandum of Understanding. Vice President Qi further emphasized the cooperation opportunities between Southampton Solent University and Hubei University of Economics, especially in the field of teaching, student exchange and research. He added that he looks forward to the collaboration. The director of the International Exchange & Cooperation Department and the deans from the School of Accountancy, the school of Arts and the school of Foreign Languages attended the meeting.

Vice President Mike Wilkinson was grateful to the warm reception, and he gave an introduction of Southampton Solent University. He stated that our two schools shared similar histories in establishing and maintaining of key disciplines, and that there is a solid foundation for deepening mutual cooperation.  

Mike Wilkinson and the delegation discussed the cooperation and course articulation with deans from relevant schools, exchanging ideas with the representatives of students.

Wilkinson’s visit to HBUE follows Party Secretary Wen Xingsheng’s visit to Southampton Solent University in 2014 in which an initial agreement of cooperation had been reached. Wilkinson’s visit marked a new stage of two university’s friendship and cooperation.
